FOREIGN EDUCATION ARRANGEMENT OPTIONS

Phil Academy has partnered with reputable educational institutions in the USA. Our partnership arrangements cover students from grades one (1) through twelve (12). This is achieved through virtual and physical course administration.

a.   Online classes

Our partner, K12 International Academy an accredited school, offers and administers prescribed courses to qualify for the U.S. high school diploma. K12 Academy is a virtual school system that conducts its programs exclusively on-line. The on-line class option is available to all students from Grades 1-12.

Students that complete up to grade 8 are not entitled to certificates. Students in grades 9-12 are required to complete 24 credits to qualify for our US High School diploma recognized and accepted by schools, colleges, universities, and employers in the USA and elsewhere.

To graduate and receive the diploma, students must be full-time and complete a total of 24 credits in the following subject areas. Each full-year course earns one full credit:

1.     English – four credits

2.     Math – four credits

3.     Science – four credits, including two lab sciences

4.     History – four credits, one of which must be US History

5.     World Language – two credits (must be two credits of the same language)

In addition, they are required to take SAT/ACT exams to improve their chances for US university scholarships while at Phil Academy.

E.   K12 Enrollment – Foreign Post-Secondary Students

1.     Students from countries other than Ghana, particularly those from French speaking countries will spend two years at Phil Academy. They are expected to produce transcripts and exam results from previous Senior High School of their countries. The credentials will be evaluated to determine eligibility for the K12 program. Students from French speaking countries are required to take remedial courses in English.

F.    University/College

1.     Students that would like to use Phil Academy as a platform for advancing their academic experience will enroll for at least 6 months to receive proper orientation in preparation for the transition. The Central Penn University and Harrisburg Area Community College (HAAC) our partners located in Pennsylvania USA, will facilitate basic admission requirements. Students will be encouraged and assisted to sit for SAT/ACT to improve their chances of obtaining scholarship to US universities.

G.   Student Bonding/Guarantee

1.     The thrust of our overseas program is to provide opportunities to students to experience life abroad, excel in their quest for knowledge, enrich and share diversity, and come back to build economically sound communities to eradicate ignorance, poverty and disease. It will be sad to realize that students who benefited from our programs will become delinquent with their visa status and conditions. Phil Academy will categorically state that attitudes that will jeopardize the program cannot be tolerated. Parents will have to sign bonds to demonstrate their commitment to ensure the kids return to home countries after completion of their respective courses.
